Serbian Kosovo woman in tears
Cries in the darkness

Put the lights back on in Lipljan

Decani Monastery Relief Fund:
Please kindly share with others the following, and we humbly thank you!

Put the lights back on in Lipljan please.

Why no lights or no electricity in Lipljan? What is the delay?
A humble appeal to the Power Company in Lipljan.

Second appeal: tear down the barbed wire in Lipljan that has been in place for the last six years. Let us open the door to peace and good will among all men!

Dear Friends In Christ Our Lord,

May the great love and peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all! The Serbian Orthodox Church in Kosovo and Metohija which includes the district of Lipljan are preparing to celebrate the Great Feast of our Lord's Holy Nativity on January 7th, 2005. The Serbian Orthodox faithful follow the old calendar, and always celebrate this feast thirteen days after December 25th. This feast is one of the most loved by all Orthodox Christians it is the day of the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ to earth, and an offering of salvation, as well an a humble opening of peace, and good will among all men. My peace I give to you Our Lord Jesus Christ offered these words during his great ministry.

One is deeply saddened that still many Serbian Orthodox Christians and other citizens are without light or electricity in Lipljan! This is an appeal to put back on the lights and that electricity would be available in time for the celebration of our Lord's Holy Nativity on January 7th. And that these lights remain on for all times.

When one has not electricity one is in total darkness, and when the evening hours arrive one must truly live in fear. Then again if one does not have any candles it becomes a terrifying matter for even the elderly and the children.

This is a humble appeal and a human right appeal for the safety of all citizens in Libljan, put the lights back on and we ask that this matter not be delayed another night, as these citizens remain in darkness! For the sake of the children put the lights back on please! For the sake of the elderly please put the lights back on! We ask the Power Company in Lipljan please help put the lights back on, and we offer our humble thanks to you!

When will the hour begin that all citizens and all people have the right to live as free people, and that all individuals should be respected as human beings, and that the matter should be to rush upon the hour to help those in desperation and in needs: light, food, fire wood, fuel, and the repair of housing, as well as the return of all Serbian citizens back to their home.

Leave the lights on and bring equal opportunity to all, and not just the selected few.

Very Reverend Father Nektarios, the President of Decani Monastery Relief Fund can be reached at father@serfes.org

We call upon you let us execute mercy to the needy, and that all citizens be honored, and that the idea of discrimination towards ones brother should not be the norm of the day.

At the same time we would like that the barbed wire that has been in Libljan for the last six years be torn down, and that all citizens should have the right to live as free people. The last six years of celebration of our Lord's Nativity this barbed wire has remained.

Finally knowing the faithful Serbian Orthodox Christians they will stay home, and shall not of course be able to celebrate our Lord's Holy Nativity at their local parishes. What parishes and or what church's -gone destroyed all 140 of them blown up and not repaired! It would be far better to celebrate of our Lord's Holy Nativity in ones own home and not to desire to go from place to place, as the hours of love and brotherhood does not exist in not only the religion of Lipljan, but throughout Kosovo and Methoija. This is our appeal let brotherhood be the plight of the hour of peace, and that all of us should sit down at the true table of peace to discuss brotherhood, and helping one another to prevail as people -human beings.

Let the New Year be proclaimed as the Year of Brotherhood and Peace.

Everyone loves Kosovo and Metohija, as even our God who created this beautiful land, and gave it to us all! Let us walk on this land as being a great blessings from God, and let us all walk as brothers and sisters loving one another and helping one another.

We humbly say to all: peace to you! Peace and good will among all men. We at the same time offer humble prayer for all and ask that we join one another on the road and the path of good will among all men.

To all Christ-loving Serbian Orthodox Christians: stay home and pray as it's not safe for you at this hour, and if you have no light, Christ our Lord will indeed shine His light in your hearts and souls, He still cares about you and loves you! Do not dispair the light has not gone out for Christ is the light and the joy of our lives who is with you! To you who celebrate this great feas in your home we say: Christ is Born! Glorify Him! A blessed feast day to you all!

May our God bless all with His Right Hand!

Christ Is Born! Glorify Him!

Peace to your loving souls!

Humbly In Our New-Born Savior Jesus Christ,
